Mendelssohn - Songs for voice and piano

Pianist Vladimir Stoupel plays Felix Mendelssohn's piano works at the Gohliser Schlosschen in Leipzig in 1997. Three of the composer's silent lyrics are on the program: Op. 38, No. 6, Op. 30, No. 6, and opus 67, no. 4. These pieces are interspersed with interludes sung by soprano Barbara Dobrzanska, who plays Die Liebende schreibt, op. 86, No. 3 and Bei der Wiege, op. 47, No. 6 of Mendelssohn. The concert ends with Les Variations sérieuses, op. 54, played by Stoupel.
