The Archive: Isaac Stern and the LSO
‘The Archive’ celebrates the all-encompassing artistry of violinist Isaac Stern (1920-2001) with performances filmed by French and British television between 1962 and 1977. Amongst the great violin concertos, Stern performs Mozart’s Concertos No.3 & 5 (with Alexander Schneider conducting) and Sibelius‘ Op.47 with André Previn and the London Symphony Orchestra. With Stern’s famed partner Eugene Istomin at the piano, the legendary violinist performs Beethoven’s and Brahms’s first Violin Sonatas.
