Lucerne 2005 – Beethoven & Bruckner
The concerts of the newly established Lucerne Festival Orchestra with Claudio Abbado as its conductor made triumphal headlines worldwide: from «the miracle of Lucerne» (Tagesspiegel) to «superbe et éphèmère» (Le Figaro). In the summer of 2005, Claudio Abbado and his elite orchestra with outstanding musicians such as Kolja Blacher, Albrecht Mayer, Georg Faust, Emmanuel Pahud and the Sabine Meyer Ensemble, performed a major work of the piano literature - Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No.3, with one of the world’s leading pianists: Alfred Brendel.
