Sakamoto plays Sakamoto

The multitalented Japanese musician Ryuichi Sakamoto has composed film scores, electronic music, an opera, as well as ring tones for mobile phones. He plays the piano, was a member of the Venice Film Festival jury, and has won both an Academy Award and a Golden Globe. In 2014, Ryuichi Sakamoto performed some of his most famous compositions, such as Still Life, Aqua, and Little Buddha, with the Tokyo Philharmonic in full force. Sakamoto creates spherical, almost ethereal, soundscapes. The result is a beautiful concert of deeply calming, almost meditative music.
