Passionate Measures is a ten episode TV series about the South Netherlands Philharmonic. You, the viewer, get a special behind-the-scenes look at the orchestra of the Southern Netherlands. After the cameras of channel L1 have filmed the South Netherlands Philharmonic for half a year, there is a concert to celebrate the year’s ending in this, the eighth episode. The new chief conductor Dmitry Liss gives a special Christmas concert in Eindhoven. In style, with colourful classics, such as Tchaikovsky’s famous First Piano Concerto and Scheherazade by Rimsky-Korsakov. Adelina Hassani, the concertmaster, plays the most famous violin solo’s in this Scheherazade, Rimsky-Korsakov’s magical rendition of the Arabian Nights. Moreover, Adelina presents herself in this episode, explaining how her job is a real tour de force. Can the South Netherlands Philharmonic and its musicians convince the audience with their concert?
