This episode of Concerts in a Palace is the first in a series of six that was recorded in 1999 at the wonderful 18th-century baroque castle Schloß Heidecksburg in Rudolstadt, Germany. Discover the Toulouse Chamber Orchestra perform works of various French composers, featuring songs such as La Poule, Menuet I, Menuet II, and L’Enharmonique by Jean Philippe Rameau’s Nouvelles Suites de Pièces de Clavecin. These pieces are followed by Georges Bizet's Adagietto from L'Arlésienne, Suite No. 1, and Maurice Ravel’s Trois Chansons. Violinist Alain Moglia is the soloist in Meditation from Jules Massenet’s Thaïs, followed by Gabriel Fauré's Berceuse, Op. 16, Gabriel Pierné’s Serenade, Op. 7, and Albert Roussel's Sinfonietta, Op. 52.
