Maestro Zubin Mehta invites you to an evening of polkas, waltzes, and operetta melodies under the Viennese skies. During the Strauss Gala, Mehta and the Wiener Philharmoniker sweep through a selection of popular operetta melodies by Johann Strauss. The world-famous tenor José Carreras and the compelling lyric soprano Andrea Rost interpret such highlights as Wiener Blut, and songs from Der Zigeunerbaron. This concert was recorded at the Heldenplatz in Vienna in 1999.
