Prometheus
This 1993 concert is an exploration of the myth of Prometheus, seen through the prism of four composers and wonderfully portrayed by director Christopher Swann. The Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra, under the direction of Claudio Abbado, plays Die Geschöpfe des Prometheus by Beethoven, Prometheus by Liszt, Prometheus, the poem of fire, op. 60 by Alexander Scriabin and Prometeo by Luigi Nono. The soloists are Marta Argerich (piano), Ingrid Ade-Jesemann (soprano), and Monika Bair-Invenz (soprano).
