Joint Concert in Tel Aviv
Joint Concert in Tel Aviv
In April 1990, the Berliner Philharmoniker made its first historic visit to Israel. This very important event, from both an artistic and political point of view, represented a further step towards the reconciliation of the Jewish and German peoples. The orchestra delivered seven concerts in Tel Aviv, Haifa, and Jerusalem, culminating in EuroArts: the final concert of the Berlin orchestra and the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra in Tel Aviv, bringing together 300 musicians under the direction of Zubin Mehta. On the program of the concert: Psalm by Paul Ben Haim, Introduction and Rondo Capriccioso for violin and orchestra by Saint-Saëns, Concertino in E flat major for von Weber's clarinet and orchestra, Ravel's Waltz and Symphony No. 5 by Beethoven.
