Every year the Berliner Philharmoniker gives their Europakonzert in another beautiful venue or place in Europe. In 2015 they choose the city Athens in Greece. In this city lies the Megaron, a big concert hall. To stay in the Greek spheres, the Berliner Philharmoniker choose to perform with the Greek violinist Leonidas Kavakos. Together with the Berliner Philharmoniker under the baton of Mariss Jansons, he performs Sibelius’ Violin Concerto. Before this masterpiece the orchestra performs Rossini’s Overture to Semiramide. The concert closes with Schumann’s Symphony No. 3.
