In December 2020, Giovanni Guzzo conducted the Camerata Viesgo orchestra in this Christmas concert from the Auditorio Sony of the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía in Madrid. The program opens with Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Eine kleine Nachtmusik for two violins, viola, cello, and bass in G major K 525 (in the version for string orchestra), followed by Ottorino Respighi’s Antiche danze ed arie per liuto, Suite no. 3 for strings, P. 172. Following a performance of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky’s Serenade for strings in C major, Op. 48, the concert closes with Franz Xaver Gruber’s Stille Nacht, heilige Nacht for voices and organ GWV 145 (in an arrangement for string orchestra).
