Sibelius’s Duo and Mendelssohn's String Quartets
Various student ensembles of the Reina Sofía School of Music show their skill in this chamber music concert recorded at the school’s Auditorio Sony in Madrid, Spain. Firstly, Dúo Sibelius, which consists of Rolanda Ginkute (violin) and Cristina Cordero Beltrán (viola), performs Jean Sibelius’s Duo for violin and viola in C major. Next is a performance of Felix Mendelssohn’s String quartet No. 2 in A minor, Op. 13, by Cuarteto Óscar Esplá de Asisa. This foursome consists of Raquel Areal Martínez and Patricia Cordero Beltrán (violins), Raquel De Benito Forriol (viola), and Montserrat Egea (cello). To conclude the concert, Cuarteto Albéniz de Prosegur plays Mendelssohn’s String quartet No. 6 in F minor, Op. 80. Cuarteto Albéniz de Prosegur is made up of Valerie Isabel Steenken and Jacobo Christensen Fabuel (violins), Keigo Suzuki (viola), and Leonardo Chiodo (cello).
