Part of the ‘Fundación Banco Sabadell Young Talents’ concert series of the Reina Sofía School of Music in Madrid, this performance features chamber music works by Antonio Vivaldi and J. S. Bach. The program opens with Vivaldi’s Bassoon Concerto in G minor, RV 495 F VIII,23, performed by Ensemble Concertante, with María Bernal Sandoval as the soloist. After, Ensemble Concertante performs Vivaldi’s Oboe Concerto in A minor, RV 461 F VII,5, featuring Pablo Balaguer Ortiz as the soloist. Next, pianist Nicolás Margarit plays J. S. Bach’s Keyboard Concerto in D minor, BWV 974 (after Oboe Concerto in D minor by A. Marcello), followed by Bach’s Keyboard Concerto in D major, BWV 972 (after Violin Concerto Op. 3 No. 9 RV 230 by A. Vivaldi). The program closes with Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto No. 5 in D major, BWV 1050, performed by Ensemble Concertante, Alberto Navarra (flute), Celia Bueno (violin), and Nicolás Margarit (harpsichord).
