The Reina Sofía School of Music (Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía) in Madrid, Spain, offers young musicians a profound musical training and valuable concert experience. This evening concert features performances of several talented Argentinian music students of the Reina Sofía School. The concert begins with violinist Victoria Warzyca performing Eugène-Auguste Ysaÿe’s Sonata for solo violin in E minor, Op. 27 No. 4. This is followed by a performance of Joseph Haydn’s String Quartet No. 41 in D major, Op. 50 No. 6, Hob. III/49, performed by string quartet Cuarteto Contrapunto de BBDO. After, tenor Agustín Gómez Cortez, accompanied by pianist Madalit Lamazares sings ‘Dies Bildnis ist bezaubernd schön’ from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s opera Die Zauberflöte. Besides, Corzet sings ‘Principe più non sei … Sì, ritrovarla io giuro’ from Gioachino Rossini’s opera La Cenerentola, accompanied by pianist Duncan Gifford. Finally, Cortez performs Franz Schubert’s Auf dem Strom, D. 943 Op. 119. He is accompanied by Marta Isabella Montes Sanz (horn) and Jesús Gómez Madrigal (piano). To close this evening concert, pianist Tomás Alegre plays Frédéric Chopin’s Piano Sonata in B minor, Op. 58, and Alexander Scriabin’s Piano Sonata No. 4 in F-sharp major, Op. 30. All performances were recorded at Auditorio Sony of Reina Sofía School of Music.
