Concours musical international de Montréal

Tuesdays in October

Starting in October, Stingray Classica broadcasts the full Piano Edition of the Concours musical international de Montréal 2021 (CMIM) on Tuesday evenings. Twenty-seven of the world’s finest young pianists took part in the 19th edition of the CMIM, which was organized online and recorded in over a dozen cities worldwide. The 27 pianists compete in two rounds. Out of the semi-final, eight competitors will perform a final round recital.


CMIM Piano 2021 - Semi-final: Tamila Salimdjanova

Tamila Salimdianova (Uzbekistan, 1991) performs J. S. Bach's Prelude and Fugue in C-sharp Major (BWV 848), Joseph Haydn's Piano Sonata No. 33 in C (Hob XVI: 20), and Robert Schumann's Fantasy in C, Op. 17, during the semi-finals of the 2021 Piano Edition of the Concours musical international de Montréal (CMIM). This performance was recorded at the Grosser Saal of the Musik-Akademie in Basel, Switzerland.

Alice Burla (Canada, 1996) performs Joseph Haydn's Piano Sonata No. 13 in G (Hob XVI: 6), 'Impromptu', 'Scherzino' and 'Canzonetta' from Ernő Dohnányi's Six Pieces, Op. 41, 'Fanfares' and 'Cordes à vide' from György Ligeti's Études, Book 1, and Béla Bartók's Dance Suite, Sz. 77, during the semi-finals of the 2021 Piano Edition of the Concours musical international de Montréal (CMIM). This performance was recorded at the Grosser Saal of the Musik-Akademie in Basel, Switzerland.


CMIM Piano 2021 - Semi-final: Ken Nakasako

This performance was recorded at the Konzertsaal Joachim, Universität der Künste in Berlin, Germany.

Bach's Prelude and Fugue in A-minor (BWV 889), Ludwig van Beethoven's Piano Sonata No. 21 in C, Op. 53, and Franz Liszt's Rhapsodie espagnole (S. 254), during the semi-finals of the 2021 Piano Edition of the Concours musical international de Montréal (CMIM). This performance was recorded at the Concert Hall of Seoul National University in South Korea.

This performance was recorded at the Great Hall of the Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Russia.

This performance was recorded at Salle Cortot, École Normale de Musique in Paris, France.

Stephanie Tang (USA, 1993) performs John Adams' China Gates, "Pour les arpèges composés" from Claude Debussy's Douze Études (L. 143), Ludwig van Beethoven's Variations and Fugue, Op. 35, and Alexander Scriabin's Piano Sonata No. 5, Op. 53, during the semi-finals of the 2021 Piano Edition of the Concours musical international de Montréal (CMIM). This performance was recorded at Burgess Recital Hall at the Royal Academy of Music in London, United Kingdom.
