Wednesdays in March
In March, Stingray Classica broadcasts another five inspiring chamber music performances recorded at Berlin's Schinkel Pavillon. Director Jan Schmidt-Garre invited outstanding classical musicians to take part in the Concerts in Quarantine series from March to May 2020. While reality abruptly and radically changed in the face of COVID-19, and social and cultural spaces suddenly disappeared from our everyday life, Schinkel Pavillon opened its unexpectedly vacated exhibition space for this intimate concert series in isolation! On March 3, celebrated pianist Severin von Eckardstein performs works by Claude Debussy, Frédéric Chopin and Sergei Prokofiev. On March 10, pianist Nicholas Rimmer accompanies cellist Gabriel Schwabe in a program featuring Robert Schubert's Arpeggione Sonata and Chopin's beloved Sonata for Cello and piano. On March 17, soprano Elsa Dreisig performs a lieder program featuring 20th-century works by Claude Debussy and Alban Berg. As part of this series, pianist Iddo Bar-Shai performs excerpts from François Couperin's 'Pièces des Clavecin', and a selection of Chopin mazurkas. Baritone Roman Trekel concludes Stingray Classica’s series of thirteen Concerts in Quarantine: together with pianist Francesco Piemontesi he performs Mahler's Sieben lieder aus Letzer Zeit, alternated with piano arrangements of works by J. S. Bach.

As part of the series, pianist Severin von Eckardstein performs Claude Debussy's Prélude à l'après-midi d'un faune (arr. Gryaznov), Frédéric Chopin's Nocturne Op. 27, No. 1, Nikolai Medtner's Elegy Op. 59, No. 2, Sergei Prokofiev's Piano Sonata No. 8, Op. 84, and Medtner's Fairy Tale, Op. 26, No. 3.

Between March and May 2020, Schinkel Pavillon Berlin opened its unexpectedly vacated exhibition space for a concert series in isolation titled Concerts in Quarantine. As part of this series, cellist Gabriel Schwabe and pianist Nicholas Rimmer perform Franz Schubert's Arpeggione Sonata, D. 821, Frédéric Chopin's Sonata for Cello and piano, Op. 65, and Camille Saint-Saëns's The Swan from The Carnival of the Animals (arr. Jascha Heifetz).

Between March and May 2020, Schinkel Pavillon Berlin opened its unexpectedly vacated exhibition space for a concert series in isolation titled Concerts in Quarantine. As part of this series, pianist Jonathan Ware and soprano Elsa Dreisig share the stage in performances of Edvard Grieg's Solveig's Song, Claude Debussy's Trois Chansons de Bilitis, Maurice Ravel's Oiseaux tristes (for solo piano), Enrique Granados's La Maja y el Ruiseñor, Sergei Rachmaninoff's Vocalise, and Alban Berg's Sieben frühe Lieder.
Concerts in Quarantine: Couperin, Chopin & Haydn

Between March and May 2020, Schinkel Pavillon Berlin opened its unexpectedly vacated exhibition space for a concert series in isolation titled Concerts in Quarantine. As part of this series, Israeli pianist Iddo Bar-Shaï performs – on a Steinway grand – several excerpts from François Couperin's 'Pièces des Clavecin': Les Ombres Errantes, Soeur Monique, Les Tambourins, Le Rossignol en amour, La Muse Plantine, Les Roseaux, Le Tic-Toc Choc ou Les Maillotins, La Couperin, and Les Barricades Mystérieuses. This is followed by Frédéric Chopin's Mazurkas Op. 17, No. 1 & 4, Op. 24, No. 2 & 3, and Op. 33, No. 4. Joseph Haydn's Piano Sonata in D, Hob. XVI:24 rounds off the concert.

Between March and May 2020, Schinkel Pavillon Berlin opened its unexpectedly vacated exhibition space for a concert series in isolation titled Concerts in Quarantine. As part of this series, baritone Roman Trekel and pianist Francesco Piemontesi perform a chamber music program alternating between Gustav Mahler's Sieben lieder aus Letzer Zeit and piano arrangements of works by J.
