Soprano Jerika Steklasa (Slovenia, 1992) performs ‘Quia Respexit’ from J. S. Bach’s Magnificat; ‘Höre Israel’ from Felix Mendelssohn’s Elias; Monique Krüs’s ‘Lunam, ne quidem Lunam’; and ‘Je marche sur tous les chemins’ from Jules Massenet’s Manon, during the semi-finals of the International Vocal Competition 2017 – Opera | Oratorio. This performance was recorded at Theater aan de Parade in ‘s-Hertogenbosch, the Netherlands.

In September 2017, 54 talented vocalists took part in the Opera | Oratorio edition of the annual International Vocal Competition (IVC), held in the Dutch city of ‘s-Hertogenbosch. Seven of them reached the final rounds: Dominic Barberi (bass), Kinga Borowska (mezzo-soprano), Yongxi Chen (tenor), Yajie Zhang (mezzo-soprano), Eunkyong Lim (mezzo-soprano), Anton Kuzenok (tenor), and Anna Harvey (mezzo-soprano). During these finals, the candidates are accompanied by philharmonie zuidnederland under the direction of Kenneth Montgomery. These performances were recorded at Muziekgebouw in Eindhoven, the Netherlands, on September 16, 2017.
