As the days get colder, Stingray Classica invites viewers to winter wonderland. On seven Thursdays in November and December, the Imperial Ice Stars perform a series of captivating performances combining the beauty of ballet with the effortless appeal of the art of figure skating. The special begins on the 7th of November with a wintery classic: The Nutcracker. On the 14th, a production of Sleeping Beauty from 2004 promises fairytale-like enchantment. Following the wondrous theme of tales, the 21st of November brings Swan Lake and the 28th ends the month with an interpretation of Cinderella. In December, the special continues with two more breathtaking ballets on ice: Swan Lake, and a 2013 interpretation of Sleeping Beauty.


The Nutcracker on Ice (2011)

7 November

This stunning performance of theatrical ice dancing brings viewers into the enchanting world of Tchaikovsky's magnificent holiday classic, The Nutcracker On Ice, performed by the internationally renowned Imperial Ice Stars, and including former champion figure skaters, Vadim Yarkov and Olga Sharutenko. This very special performance and soundtrack was performed by the Manchester Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Tim A. Duncan, and filmed live in Cape Town, South Africa in 2011.


Sleeping Beauty on Ice (2004)

14 November

The award-winning Imperial Ice Stars are 26 Olympic, World, European and National Championship skaters, who jointly hold over 250 competition medals, performing theatrical ice skating on a frozen theatre stage. The Imperial Ice Stars have received five-star praise from critics and standing ovations from audiences at some of the world's most prestigious venues - London’s Royal Albert Hall and Sadler's Wells, Singapore's Esplanade Theatre, Montreal's Place des Arts and Cape Town's Artscape. This stunning performance, filmed at the Melbourne Theatre Company in Australia, offers a new look on the secular tale of Sleeping beauty, with the original music of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (1840-1893).


Swan Lake on Ice (2006)

21 November

Using the complete sound track from the show and filmed live in Sydney, Australia 2006 during the World Tour’s first leg, this stunning performance captures the art form of Ice Dance and allows the viewer to truly marvel at the skills of the Imperial Ice Stars. Superb sets, lighting design, Tony Mercer's direction and Tchaikovsky's beautiful music specially performed by the Manchester Symphony Orchestra conducted by Tim A. Duncan, together with a cast of 26 skaters - including Vadim Yarkov and Olga Sharutenko (Dancing on Ice) - combine to create a very special production.


Cinderella on Ice (2008)

28 November

This stunning, new interpretation of Cinderella On Ice, is a theatrical ice dancing performance not to be missed.This story of Cinderella focuses on a humble chorus dancer who is thrust into the spotlight, captivates the heart of the most eligible bachelor in town, and despite rival attempts by her stepsisters to steal his heart, shows viewers that true love always triumphs. Recorded in 2008 in Australia by award winning artistic director Tony Mercer , this twist on the classic tale, features the international Imperial Ice Stars, including Albena Denkova and Maxim Staviski, former world champion ice dancers.
