Armagh is one of the oldest cities of Ireland and also the place St-Patrick choose to build his first stone church. Nowhere in the world is the connection with Saint-Patrick more meaningful than in this city and the neighbouring counties in which he lived. This program brings the viewers to places most associated with Saint-Patrick and brings highlights of the annual concert, held in the cathedral that bears his name. Join composer and presenter John Anderson as he conducts a celebratory and reflective event honoring Saint-Patrick. A range of choirs unite in a unique evening of music and spoken words in the beautiful cathedral setting. Recorded March 9th, 2019.

Celebrate St. Patrick 2020 was filmed in March 2020 at Saint Patrick's Cathedral in Armagh, Northern Ireland. Choirs from far and near seized the opportunity to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day and perform with local Irish musicians for the congregation of this historic cathedral. The concert merges sacred music, traditional Irish instruments and music from the Irish diaspora. Performances from the highly acclaimed Voices of Ireland, jig dancers, and the rendition of Christ Be Beside Me by the combined choirs are among the many emotional highlights. Readings from the words of St. Patrick and footage of Ireland's glorious landscape make Celebrate Saint Patrick 2020 a feast for the ears and eyes!
St. Patrick's Day Concert 2021

This program offers an exciting mix of words, music and dance, both traditional and classical, sacred and secular, in this spellbinding compilation featuring only the most thrilling moments of several year's worth of St. Patrick's Day concerts. This material was recorded before the covid-19 outbreak at unique locations in Northern Ireland, including the place of St. Patrick's first church (the Cathedral in Armagh, Northern Ireland) and his grave (the Cathedral in Downpatrick). In the beautiful acoustics of St. Patrick’s Cathedral, the words, melody and meaning of many of the performed pieces resounds like nowhere else. They include the hymn ‘Be Thou My Vision’, here sung by a stunning 800 voices. Every performing choir was asked to sing material of their choosing, and was cordially invited to join the combined choir and some very special guest performers. Share in the joy of this festive St. Patrick's Day celebration!
