Piano works by Liszt and Morricone
Italian classical pianist Roberto Prosseda (1975) began composing pieces for piano at the age of four. Today, Prosseda is best known for his recordings and performances of lost works by Felix Mendelssohn he so sensationally discovered. Seen here performing in 2021 at one of Italy’s oldest extant Renaissance theatres, the gorgeous Teatro Olimpico in the northern Italian town of Vicenza, Prosseda performs challenging pieces by Romantic composer and piano virtuoso Franz Liszt and film composer Ennio Morricone. On the program are the ‘Tre Sonetti del Petrarca’ and ‘Après une Lecture du Dante: Fantasia Quasi Sonata’ by Liszt, and Valse from ‘La signora delle Camelie’ and ‘Rimembranze’ by Morricone.
