Italian classical pianist Alessandro Marangoni (1979) is internationally acclaimed for his profound interpretations and impeccable technique. Seen here performing in 2021 at one of Italy’s oldest extant Renaissance theatres, the gorgeous Teatro Olimpico in the northern Italian town of Vicenza, Marangoni plays Muzio Clementi’s ‘Batti, batti’; Gioachino Rossini’s Barcarolle and Petit caprice in the style of Offenbach; Ferruccio Busoni’s Elegy no. 2 “All’Italia! In modo napolitano”; Mario Castelnuovo-Tedesco’s ‘La samaritana al pozzo’ and ‘Golgotha’ from his Evangélion, an epic meditation on stories from the New Testament; and Victor de Sabata’s ‘Tre pezzi per pianoforte’.
