Part of the ‘Preludio’ concert series of the Reina Sofía School of Music in Madrid, this recital features several students showing their skill. Firstly, pianist Izem Gürer performs Ludwig van Beethoven’s Piano sonata No. 31 in A-flat major, Op. 110. Next is a performance of Franz Schubert’s Violin sonata in A major, ‘Duo’, D 574, Op. 162, by violinist Sara Valencia and pianist Ricardo Alí Álvarez. After, pianist David Solomon plays ‘Danseuses de Delphes’ (No. 1) and ‘La cathédrale englouti’ (No. 10) from Claude Debussy’s Préludes for piano (Book I). Solomon closes the recital with Frédéric Chopin’s Ballade No. 1 in G minor, Op. 23, followed by Chopin’s Étude in C minor, Op. 25 No. 12.
