Like last month, Stingray Classica once again premieres two exciting concerts that feature some of the silver screen’s greatest music. On Friday, November 1 at 21:00, Stingray Classica presents ‘Galaxymphony Strikes Back’, a splendid concert performed by the Danish National Symphony Orchestra. Under the direction of conductor Antony Hermus, the orchestra takes us on a symphonic space journey with a selection of music from iconic sci-fi movies, such as Avatar, Gravity, Interstellar, and Star Wars. Following this, on Friday, November 8 at 21:00, the Danish National Symphony Orchestra teams up with the DR Big Band under the baton of Miho Hazama in ‘The Babylon Hotel’. This concert, in which the upper class meets the underworld in a melting pot of euphoria and extravagance, nostalgia and pleasure, features music from celebrated ‘roaring twenties’ themed movies and television series, such as The Great Gatsby, Burlesque, and Babylon Berlin. These broadcasts are repeated on Monday, November 4 and 11 at 21:00. Experience the magic of cinematic music on Stingray Classica!
Galaxymphony Strikes Back

The Danish National Symphony Orchestra takes us on a spectacular symphonic space journey in an out-of-this-world concert program of film music. Under the direction of Dutch conductor Antony Hermus, the orchestra guides us through the musical universe, performing a selection of music from iconic sci-fi movies, such as Avatar, Gravity, Interstellar, and Star Wars, written by major composers such as John Williams, Hans Zimmer, and James Horner. Featured soloists in this concert are Tuva Semmingsen, Christine Nonbo Andersen, Steffen Bruun, and David Bateson. This performance was recorded at the DR Koncerthuset in Copenhagen, Denmark, in August 2021.
The Babylon Hotel

One night only! Welcome to the spectacular and decadent world of The Babylon Hotel, where music pours out of every crevice like bubbling champagne. In this concert, the upper class meets the underworld in a melting pot of euphoria and extravagance, nostalgia and pleasure with a carefree sinfulness only seen in the exuberant nightlife of the 1920s around the world. The concert features iconic music from movies and series, such as The Great Gatsby, Burlesque, and Babylon Berlin. The music is performed by the Danish National Symphony Orchestra and DR Big Band under the direction of Miho Hazama. The concert also features the Moka Efti Orchestra, and singers Madame le Pustra, Emma Smith, Mademoiselle Karen, Jakob Munch, and Nikko Weidemann, as well as dancers of Sweet Burlesque. This performance was recorded at the DR Koncerthuset in Copenhagen, Denmark, in May 2023.
